Rashad K. Brown, MEd, AP African American Studies Author of Barron’s AP African American Studies Premium (available January 2026). Rashad K. Brown currently teaches AP African American Studies and AP World History at Atlanta Public Schools. As one of only 60 educators nationwide piloting the College Board's AP African American Studies course, Rashad has been instrumental in introducing this transformative curriculum. He holds a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from Florida A&M University and is the Founder and CEO of African American Studies Guru LLC, a platform dedicated to advancing education on African American history and culture through workshops, seminars, and teacher training. His dedication to excellence in teaching earned him the prestigious Outstanding Social Studies Teacher Award, underscoring his commitment to engaging, meaningful education. Rashad’s work has been featured on Fox 5 News, CNN, and USA Today. He has shared his insights and challenges through an op-ed in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and delivered a historic speech at the Georgia State Capitol, championing the importance of African American Studies in education.
Mary Wuerth, MS, AP Biology Author of Barron’s AP Biology Premium. Mary Wuerth has taught AP Biology for more than 20 years and has received several national awards and honors, including the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching. She earned her MS in Biological Sciences from Clemson University and her BS in Biochemistry from UCLA. She has written items for the AP Biology exam, served as a Table Leader for the scoring of the free-response questions on the AP Biology exam, and presented AP Biology workshops to new and experienced teachers around the world.
Felicia Harrel, is the Advanced Courses Director at Epic Charter Schools that services 40,000 students in Oklahoma. She has led and worked alongside an innovative team for 7 years that pushes the boundaries of education, specifically virtual education. Felicia has specialized in the development of programs and their successful implementation, systems, and application for students. Her skills have shaped many exciting technological advances that positively impacted the educational field. Felicia graduated from East Central University with a Bachelors in Science and a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership and Business at the University of Oklahoma.

With a background as an educator in urban and suburban schools, Jason brings a unique perspective to his leadership roles in educational technology and believes in human-centered design principles and the power of teams to envision, plan, and deliver transformative impact. As SVP and General Manager of High School at Kaplan, Jason is responsible for Kaplan’s vision for the future of education and the talented teams that will advance that vision. Prior to Kaplan, Jason held leadership roles at Class Technologies, Education Elements, DreamBox Learning, and Blackboard.
