Yael Aufgang
She/HerYael Aufgang leads Kaplan, Inc.’s legal team.
With Kaplan since 2016, Yael was previously in private practice. She was a litigator at Jones Day (Chicago), Goodwin Proctor LLP (Boston), and Cahill Gordon & Reindel (New York), focusing most recently on antitrust litigation.
A native of Argentina who moved to the United States as a young child, Yael made immigrant justice a primary focus of her extensive legal pro bono work while in private practice. She also was a Teach for America corps member before she attended law school. Yael is a member of the board of the Kaplan Educational Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity that provides academic advising and financial support to community college students from underrepresented communities who wish to transfer into competitive four-year schools.
Yael earned a bachelor’s in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law.
