Kaplan Professional To Offer Free Online Career Development Training Courses To Workers Furloughed And Laid Off Due To The Coronavirus

LA CROSSE, WI, April 13, 2020—Kaplan Professional announced today that it will offer free online education and skills development courses to individuals who have been furloughed or laid off from their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Kaplan Professional is in a unique position to help people build skills that can be applied in both their personal and professional lives," said Andrew Temte, CEO of Kaplan Professional. "We have an obligation as educators to help those whose careers have been impacted by the coronavirus to develop new proficiencies necessary for success as they prepare themselves to re-enter the workforce."

Kaplan Professional has created a self-enrollment portal, powered by Thought Industries, which will permit individuals to choose from a variety of online training courses that aim to help people develop and hone both personal and career skills. There will be more than 30 courses available, including:

● Interviewing skills, resume writing, and salary negotiation;

● Working remote and managing remote teams;

● Decision-making techniques and critical thinking skills;

● Fundamentals of data and analytics;

● Personal financial planning basics;

● Introduction to sustainable investments;

● Financial basics for kids.

"We know which skills employers find most valuable, and these courses will give people the tools they need to achieve their personal and professional goals."

Individuals can access the portal directly through https://professionalskillsfitness.kaplan.com/. Additional courses will be added to the library on an ongoing basis and as demand warrants.
