Senior Kaplan Executives Unveil New Financial Literacy Diagnostic At New York Seminar

Apr. 18, 2016

Tool identifies financial waste and risk in organizations

NEW YORK, NY – (April 18, 2016) –  Senior executives from Kaplan Leadership and Professional Development unveiled the new Kaplan Financial Literacy Diagnostic, a sophisticated tool to identify and manage financial risks in a company, at a seminar in New York today.

“The Kaplan Financial Literacy Diagnostic allows a company to identify workplace financial risk quickly, using relevant scenarios to assess the competence and confidence of your people around their levels of financial literacy, and to deliver accurate results with detailed recommendations on how to act,” said seminar leader Andy Perkins, Global Director of Kaplan Leadership and Professional Development.

The Kaplan Financial Literacy Diagnostic answers key workplace questions such as:

  • Does every person in your organization understand the financial implications of their daily workplace decisions?
  • Are poor workplace financial decisions resulting in lost money?
  • Can you trust your people to make the right financial calls?
  • Are worries about workplace financial competency (not allowing your people to make decisions) inhibiting potential growth?

With the Kaplan Financial Literacy Diagnostic, organizations will also identify risks and opportunities in their business, allowing them to:

  • Prioritize and direct learning and development interventions with a laser focus to where it’s needed, optimizing budget and avoiding waste;
  • Identify financial risk – highlight people that are highly confident but making incorrect financial decisions;
  • Detect hidden talent – identify people with high competence but low confidence;
  • Provide a flexible and commercially relevant ‘before and after’ capability;
  • Benchmark individuals, offices, branches and teams – internally and against other organizations – with clear and relevant individual reports and collective volume heat-maps.

“The accumulated data then comes together as a financial literacy heat-map that identifies which individuals are likely to be a financial risk to an organization and those who represent untapped potential, allowing early and targeted development for the people who need it most,” said co-presenter Dr. Ian Stewart, Kaplan Head of Leadership and Organizational Practice.

Kaplan brings world-class breadth and depth in the area of learning assessments and diagnostics — which go hand in hand — and is one of the foremost leaders in learning science.
