Chicago, June 2, 2005 – Kaplan Professional, a division of worldwide educational services provider Kaplan, Inc., today announced that it has acquired the assets of eMind, LLC, a provider of online education and compliance software to the securities and insurance industries.

eMind will become part of Kaplan Professional’s Dearborn Financial Services unit.  Dearborn provides education and compliance solutions to financial services companies and individuals.

“With this investment, we intend to expand our compliance business and better serve our customers,” said Eric Cantor, President and CEO of Kaplan Professional.  “eMind’s strength in software technology is an important addition to Dearborn’s current portfolio.”

Through its online education programs and software, called RegulatorTM, eMind assists companies in managing the employee learning and reporting requirements of securities and insurance regulators.  The company is based in Los Angeles, with a facility in New Delhi, India.
