Mayor Ron O. Loveridge, Developer Alan Mruvka Among Attendees at Tomorrow’s Grand Opening

Riverside, CA, August 21, 2006 – Maric College – Riverside will celebrate a grand opening tomorrow morning for its new location in downtown Riverside at 4040 Vine Street, formerly the Marketplace Theater.  Tomorrow’s event, at 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., marks the school’s expansion and move from 1635 Spruce Street.  Riverside Mayor Ron O. Loveridge will deliver remarks at today’s grand opening.

“Our move to 4040 Vine Street signifies an important step for Maric College’s ability to contribute to the growth of our community,” said Alan Purvis, Executive Director of Maric College – Riverside. “Not only are we in a more visible and convenient location, but Vine Street also allows us to expand our program offerings and accommodate more students, many of whom cannot attend a traditional four-year college due to work, life or family obligations.”

The new location at 4040 Vine Street boasts 40,000 square feet and essentially doubles the amount of square feet previously occupied in Maric’s former location on Spruce Street.  Maric College’s new location is easily accessible, given its close proximity to the train station and downtown Riverside. Additionally, the school has two new labs for its Pharmacy Technician and Massage Therapy programs.

Maric College is an institution of higher learning dedicated to providing quality programs that integrate curriculum with professional skill development empowering students to achieve their lifelong and professional goals.  The Riverside campus currently enrolls approximately 300 students in diploma programs such as, allied health, computer office systems, and legal administrative courses, and employs more than 50 staff and faculty members.
